We have several dog exercise areas for our four-legged friends. Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping is a dog friendly campground in Mackinaw City, MI.
Pet Exercise Areas
Pet exercise areas are not fenced in, so pet owners should plan accordingly. Our large dog exercise area is located conveniently across from our Park Store. There is also a dog exercise area on the lake near our Bridgeview cabins.
Dogs are also allowed on the Starline Mackinac Ferry shuttle to Mackinac Island. Dogs must be on a leash and under control at all times. Fair warning: most businesses on Mackinac Island do not allow dogs into their establishments unless they are seeing eye dogs. Mackinac Island's city ordinance is similar: you must have your dog on a leash and under control at all times as well as clean up after them.
Pet Rules
While we don't allow pets in our cabins, guests staying on campsites with dogs are welcome! We ask all dog owners to follow our pet rules as outlined in our Campground Rules and our Terms & Conditions.
Dogs are allowed on campsites, if you clean up after them and follow our rules. Dogs must be on a leash at all times. Dogs must NOT be left unattended outside. They may be left alone in your camper if they will NOT disturb your neighbors. No aggressive dogs allowed (poodle or pit bull - you know if your dog is aggressive). Owners are responsible for any damage or injury caused by their pet. If your dog barks and causes complaints - you will be asked to leave.
Note: We do not encourage campers to bring cats camping - generally the unfamiliar surroundings and sounds frighten cats. Cats slip out very easily and are hard to recapture.
