We drove 5 hours to Mackinaw City for the Richard Crane Memorial truck show, upon arrival to our motel we discovered our room was sold out from under us for more money than what we booked for. After several phone calls and trips to other hotels, my husband called Mackinaw Mill Creek to try to get a cabin for the night. Adam answered the phone and was very helpful. He told us our options for rentals at the campground but since we were planning on staying at a motel we didn't have any bedding or other necessities needed for camping. He told us that the campground just got a motel and he could get us a room for $99 (our original motel was $79 and since our room was sold out from under us, the other motels/hotel in town wanted $199+ for the night) Our room that Adam booked for us was WONDERFUL! The motel was clean and quiet and only a few miles from town. Check in and out was quick and easy and all the staff we encountered were polite. Thank you Adam and Mackinaw Mill Creek for saving our vacation.

A 1st class campground! Well kept. Restrooms and showers super nice and clean. Beautiful water and Mackinaw bridge views. Free shuttles to the Mackinaw Island ferry.
Definitely will be back.

Stayed here for the first time over Labor Day weekend. The check-in process was very smooth, and you could tell that the plan for a busy weekend was well thought out. Check-in included not only a map of the campground with your site highlighted (and how to get there), but the inside was a map of the surrounding area - including attractions, local restaurants, laundry mat and even directions to the nearest hospital! Very well thought out.
Typically, we camp in State parks, so camping at Mackinaw Mill Creek Campground was new for us. I was impressed by many things while we stayed there. 1) People really seemed to obey the rules. The campground really does quiet down after 10, and if you feel anyone is being too loud there is a number you can call and an employee will stop by the noisy site (given to you at check-in). 2) There are many activities you can do right in the campground - mini golf, a swimming pool, an arcade... 3) There is a very well stocked camp store! I'm still getting into the swing of packing my own trailer - so I forget things! Almost everything I needed was available at the camp store (dry shampoo was the ONLY thing I couldn't find!), and even my husband commented that he was amazed how reasonable the prices were. The camp store also had a great selection of cute sweatshirts, decor items, and lots of great souvenirs! 4) The employees were all very helpful and friendly. Almost every employee who drove by our site said "hello" on their way by. 5) It is CLEAN! Keep in mind the number of people who camp here at once - this place is clean. I never saw a dirty bathroom - not even paper on the floor. The showers were clean, and I literally saw an employee walking around sweeping cobwebs off the sign posts and light poles! 6) Great location. Mackinaw Mill Creek is near to everything, and if you don't want to drive into town, you can take the handy shuttle from the campground to the Star Line dock. Sure, some people will complain that it is $5 on Labor Day (only, free the rest of summer) - but you don't have to worry about finding parking either!

Nice campground. Big, but plenty of space, and the way it's set up it makes you feel like you have some privacy. Good facilities. Firewood $3/bundle right there on the spot. Fire pit rings a little beat up, but hey, it's a campground. Picnic tables solid. Convenience store right in the center. Friendly people at the front desk, and just a mile or two out of Mackinaw City. We are heading back Labor Day weekend here soon. Great job!

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for the wonderful time we had at your campground last week. The site that you gave us was incredible. I have never stayed at a campsite with such a breathtaking view. Normally a person that sleeps in, I would get up early just to sit outside and watch the view. My two children called it paradise.

We go every single year and love it! The cabins are so reasonably priced, and they even have options if you want to rent a campsite. We love that it's far enough out of town to be peaceful, but close enough that you are downtown in 5 minutes (driving time). If you don't feel like going in town or on the island there is plenty to do at this campground: swimming, mini golf, arcade, bike rentals, and a nice play ground.

I rented one of the cabins with a private bathroom near the beach. It was perfect and quite. The cabin was cozy (it had heat!!!) and was spotless. The campground is outside of town, but offers ferry tickets to the island at a discount and is a short drive (3 minutes) from all of the transit lines to the island and all of the town action. They also have a camp store with games, supplies, and ice cream. I can't wait to visit again!

We enjoyed our 5 day stay at your campground, but I especially want to tell you how much my 7 year old, David, and 4 year old, Michael think of Chris, one of the workers there (he has reddish hair and is tall). I was personally impressed with his interest and kindness to them when he could have easily ignored such little guys. Please thank him for helping us have such a pleasant time.

Rarely have I been motivated enough to write a letter of praise. Good service is expected, it is usually the bad service that is written about. Not in this case. I want to thank the staff at Mill Creek, especially Chris for extending helping hand.
After 6 hours of fighting traffic heading north for Labor Day, my wife and I arrived at Mill Creek for our long awaited camping weekend. There is something about camping with the fire and sleeping outdoors that quickly regenerates day-to-day stress drained batteries.
We arrived at 10 pm excited about setting up. We suddenly realized that we forgot the poles to our tent. We were stuck. . . I explained my problem to the staff at registration and asked for a hotel recommendation. They did not want us to leave and said they would find or create something for us. They contacted Chris for ideas. Chris generously offered to us his Kid's play tent. That worked out fine and we were very happy.
In a day when "too bad, we already have your money" attitude seams to be prominent, it was very refreshing to find something different.
Thanks again for the assistance and we will see you next summer (with our poles!).

My family and I visited your campground over Memorial Weekend. This was our first trip to Mackinaw and it was great!! All of the people at the campground were so friendly. The campground is beautiful. We stayed in one of your cabins which made things a little easier with 2 children under 3 years old. It was really clean. Very easy to get to. The view that you have is fabulous. Needless to say we were very pleased with our stay. We hope to get the chance to visit you again next year and stay in one of your new cabins. This letter is long overdue. When we first came through your entrance some ten years ago we had no idea what an influence your campground was destined to have on us. No idea of how often we would find ourselves thinking of all you have to offer here, and how fervently we'd wish to sample it all again. And then again. And we did. Often. Sometimes just for a night when enroute somewhere ... sometimes for a short weekend that business pressures allowed us to steal. Your campground became a "magic" name for us. I think it will always remain so. Even now we have moved our permanent home to Scottsdale, AZ. We've traveled and camped 36 of our states. . . as well as five the the Canadian provinces and we can say to you in all honesty that nowhere have we ever found a campground that even comes close to what you have here on the waters of the legend-haunted Straits. And we know, just from having been here so often over the years, that it didn't just "happen." It took a lot of hard work and TLC to create this unique park. Just as it takes a lot of work and TLC to preserve it. We personally thank you each time we drive in or out. I am sure there are hundreds of others who feel just as we do. We just finished a summer of camping at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping. On behalf of my wife and I we would like to express our appreciation for allowing us the privilege of staying at your campgrounds. We had excellent sites during all our visits. On Labor Day Weekend there was an emergency and your staff saw fit to deliver the message to our site. For this we say thank you. We would highly commend your staff for a Job Well Done! We are sure you receive enough critic's from the public. But we feel we must give "honor" where "honor" is due. You have a staff you can be proud of and they deserve the "highest praises." We are looking forward to another good year of camping in 1999 the Lord willing.

It was the nicest experience for all the kids. No one wanted to come home - they kept asking to go back. Was sort of "Paradise." Beautiful weather, no mosquitoes, marvelous campgrounds - everything perfect. Think some of the kids in wheelchairs put in about 20 miles just exploring. Some want to return to your park with their parents. From all the kids and staff thanks for a marvelous camping experience.

Last Monday through Friday Darlene, my bride of 30 years, and I had the distinct pleasure of camping with you. I want to take this opportunity to sincerely compliment you on an excellent facility. We started married life camping in a little more rustic circumstances. It was in the form of a canoe trip honeymoon in Ely, MN. So we have been exposed to all kinds of camping - even motel camping. I'm in business as of 24 years and a staunch supporter of free enterprise. I really admire the way the camp was run. You seemed to have all the bases covered. It was kept clean. I even enjoyed the contact with a few of your nice people. It was well supervised and I can't believe some of the rules we lived by and seemed to work - such as taking all the garbage to the front gate. 600 sites and no pick-up??? And it all seemed to go so smoothly. Again it strikes a blow for free enterprise and it CAN BE DONE!!!....
